Design Engineer Associate 2026
This role collaborates closely with our fabrication, design engineering, and project management teams to bring projects from design concept through fabrication and installation.

Job responsibilities
- Creating client facing design drawings and fabrication ready technical drawings
- Produce CNC ready CAD models
- Participate in client meetings and presentations, clearly communicating design intent and recommendations
- Organization and updating of Airtable (our project management solution) as a project progresses
- Order and communicate the integration of hardware/materials/finishes to the fabrication team
- Coordinate externally produced parts (such as sheet metal, weldments, etc)
- Communicate with subcontractors to establish scopes and check pricing
- Conduct field verification and support installation activities as needed
- Maintain accuracy, organization, and attention to detail for projects through all phases, from design engineering through installation
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years relevant work experience
- Available Monday-Friday, 8:30-5:00 pm, in person in Chicago
- Familiarity with technical/shop drawings
Software & Tech
- Fusion 360: experience and basic proficiency required
- Rhino: strong plus, but not required
- Inventor: strong plus, but not required
- AutoCAD: nice-to-have, but not required
- Solidworks: nice-to-have, but not required
- Adobe Suite (mainly Photoshop and Illustrator): basic experience required
Google Suite (especially Sheets): basic experience required
